Inter regional loco hauled services from Brighton 1989

The major change for 1989 was only one Saturday train running via the WCML, everything else was routed back to the Thames Valley. Also from 1989 none of the trains serve Didcot, Lockerbie or Haymarket, Slough was only served by a Saturday train.

The Sussex Scot and Brighton to Manchester departures were effectively swopped to give a morning departure for the 'Scot'.

Saturdays once again saw the Brighton services running to and from Eastbourne.

Sundays see lots of alterations due to engineering works. On some dates the Brighton to Edinburgh service runs via Moreton-in-March and Worcester Shrub Hill. There was no longer any Sunday service to or from Kent. There are a lot of notes due to various alterations to the Sunday services because of engineering works, as a result the Sunday details have been simplified a bit.......I know it doesn't look like it!

Class 47/4s remained to the fore between the coast and Birmingham with Class 86 haulage north of. The solitary train via the West Coast Mainline continued to change locomotives at West London Junction / Mitre Bridge.

WTT timing loads shows D385/E385 this equates to 11 cars although pictures below of the services to Kent show that the loads were often half that.
